Sunday Gathering Resources / Bible 2025 Resources

In 2025, we are reading and teaching through the whole Bible chronologically as a church, seeing who God is, what He has done throughout all of history, and how we ought to live and walk in light of Him.

Big Truth:
our sin wrecks God’s Good creation

20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. Romans 8:20-22

  • Why is it important for us to understand the effects of our sin?
  • How does it bring hope into our pain and suffering to know that it is our sin that has wrecked God’s good creation?
  • Where are you tempted to minimize or justify your own sin?

This week, talk about sin. We are created by God and made in His image, yet we have rejected Him and wrecked His good creation. All created things long for redemption and the restoration back to their good created state. Respond to your sin in repentance and trust in Jesus.
