PORTUGAL

July 14 – 24, 2023
Purpose – Care
Est. Cost $2,000 – 2,500
Team Leader: Gene Mermilliod

About Portugal

This project is an excellent entry level international mission experience. You will be exposed to a very European culture that is quite indifferent to the gospel. Our primary purpose in going is two-fold: to engage with the members of the church in Montijo and to encourage the believers there through biblical teaching and preaching. Our coming to them will serve as a tremendous blessing and source of rejoicing for them, particularly after being isolated because of Covid. Additionally, we will also engage in a few evangelistic opportunities as well and actively invite people to the church.

go seasons

2 Months – 2 Years

Go Seasons are mid-term trips, from around two months to two years. Given the extended time of the trip, the shape of Go Seasons can look quite a bit different from shorter Go Trips. While Go Seasons are open to anyone, they are often the best fit for someone who is in college or is retired.

New Orleans, LA

This is a chance to work alongside MissionLab for the summer. MissionLab is a non-profit of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. This is a paid position.

Portugal

Western Europe is largely post-Christian, and as such, many have quite a limited understand of the gospel — if any at all. On this Go Season, you’ll be working with our partner in Portugal in various community outreach and other opportunities. Ideally, for this opportunity, it will be 1-2 males. As with all Go Seasons, being a motivated self-starter, staying teachable, and keeping your eyes and heart on Jesus is key.
