Neighbors & Nations: serve the vulnerable
April 12-20, 2025
Neighbors & Nations is a semi-annual emphasis designed to equip and mobilize us for gospel advancement beginning next door and reaching around the world.
Our emphasis for this Neighbors & Nations is our Go Pursuit of Serve the Vulnerable.
The impact of sin is clearly visible in things like injustice, poverty, suffering, sickness, etc. Despite all the needs around us, we believe the greatest need of our neighbors is the gospel. Our only hope for true restoration is reconciliation with God through Jesus Christ.
Proclaiming the gospel is the mission of the church. Serving the Vulnerable is not gospel proclamation on its own; rather it is a clearly commanded implication of the gospel in the life of every Jesus follower. Serving those in need is an open door for gospel proclamation and discipleship.
As we Serve the Vulnerable, we prioritize meeting human needs according to risk. We send disciples to serve those with social needs – those whose community is at risk, those with physical needs – whose life is at risk, and those with eternal needs – those whose soul is at risk.
We Pray. We Give. We Go.
