We Give To Go…Because Jesus Is Worth It!

Elder Letter by Mike Laughrun

In Philippians 4, Paul writes a letter to the church there who had given generously to partner with him as he advanced the gospel all over the Mediterranean region.

And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only. (16) Even in Thessalonica you sent me help for my needs once and again. (17) Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit. (18) I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. (19) And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (20) To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen. – Philippians 4:15-20

The church at Philippi was directly involved in all God was doing through the apostle Paul by faithfully praying, going, and giving.

One of the ways we as a church participate in gospel advancement is by our faithful giving through GIVE2GO.

Our church is a part of God’s activity in places like Uganda, India, and Portugal. Through our giving, we are a part of the training of leaders in Ethiopia and Nigeria. We are serving the vulnerable in South Asia. We are a part of church plants in Colorado as well as here in East Tennessee (Red Stone Church in Elizabethton).

Through local agencies like Good Samaritan and Agape Women’s Services, we are caring for the vulnerable right here in Upper East Tennessee. Beyond that, as we financially support organizations like the IMB (International Mission Board) and NAMB (North American Mission Board), we are involved in mobilizing 3,800 missionaries all over the world and launching 1,000 new church plants who are making disciples here in North America.

GIVE2GO is the primary opportunity for our church to give above and beyond regular tithes and offering for the global advancement of the Gospel. As we give generously together, we are privileged to see and participate in God’s activity vastly beyond what we could ever do on our own. Our 2022 giving goal is $350,000. As of the end of September, we have given $113,987 toward our goal.

Prayerfully consider how you can advance the message of the gospel by giving generously through GIVE2GO.  It is a joy to be a part of this with you.
