Advancing The Gospel By Serving The Vulnerable

Advancing The Gospel By Serving The Vulnerable

Jesus called and commissioned every one of his followers to “GO” and make disciples. Neighbors & Nations is a week-long emphasis designed to equip and mobilize TCBC for gospel advancement beginning next door and reaching around the world.

Our Spring Neighbors and Nations emphasis will be advancing the gospel by serving the vulnerable. Together we will learn how to pray fervently, to give generously, and then to go — to serve the vulnerable, in our communities and among the nations.

One of the ways we do that is through Serve Week. Between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday, we’ll have dozens of serving opportunities to engage our community through local organizations and ministry partners. Our goal is to serve people — with physical needs and with social needs, but most importantly, to serve their eternal needs, by sharing the gospel of Jesus. Opportunities will range from food distribution in Johnson City to serving at an elementary school in Kingsport or serving meals to hikers on the Appalachian Trail. There are spots for individuals, whole families, or your entire GO group.

Serve week not only represents ways to serve our community, but also disciple-making opportunities. Consider how you can not only participate in a Serve Week opportunity, but bring others with you. Particularly those in your GO Group or anyone you are currently investing in. Each opportunity provides a great way to help someone take a next step in their relationship with Jesus.
